Why should I hire a professional dog walker?

We all want happy, healthy pets because they are an important member of our family. Hiring a professional dog walker to help take care of your pet while you are away gives you peace of mind and flexibility with your schedule. A professional dog walker will give your dog individual love and attention. And, you'll have the same person walking your dog each day. We want to get to know and love your pet as one of our own. We are licensed, bonded, and Red Cross Pet CPR certified.

What does a pet sitter do?

While you are away on business or pleasure trips, a pet sitter cares for your pets in your home. Your pets stay in their own comfortable home environment and keep their usual routine. You can schedule visits each day for care, companionship, play, exercise and feeding of your pet. Smaller pets, such as cats, usually need just 1 – 2 visits per day. Dogs may require as many as 4 visits per day.

Why should I use Pitter Pat instead of a kennel?

Pets are happier staying at home! According to Pet Sitter International, an organization we belong to, pet owners hire professional sitters because pets experience less stress at home; their diet and exercise routines are uninterrupted; travel trauma for both owner and pet is eliminated; and a pet's exposure to illness is minimized. If you have more than one pet, such as multiple dogs and cats, then a pet sitter is probably more affordable. You will have peace of mind knowing that your pet(s) and home are in good hands while you are away.

Who will be taking care of my pet?

Pitter Pat is licensed, bonded, and insured. Our professional staff is trained and certified in Pet CPR by the Red Cross. Between the staff, there is more than 50 years of caring for animals. Before we begin our services, we will visit your home to meet you and your pet. You can provide us with detailed information, including veterinary services, contact information, and how you would like us to care for your pet. This "meet and greet" is free of charge.

What time of day will you come to take care of my pet?

All midday dog walks take place between 10:30 am and 3:00pm. We do our best to accommodate specific time requests. We are also available to visit puppies and elderly dogs as needed throughout the day. Need an evening or weekend visit? We can schedule that too!

Will you do weekend visits?

Of course! Anytime you are away from home, Pitter Pat will take care of your pet and give him the care and attention he needs. We offer pet sitting services throughout the weekend as well as overnight stays. For regular customers, we do our best to schedule your pet's regular dog walker or caretaker, someone you and your pet know and trust.

What if I need more than one visit while I am away?

We're happy to visit your pet as many times per day as needed while you are away during the weekend or on an extended vacation trip. Pitter Pat knows that our pets are important family members and need food, exercise, playtime, attention and care while you are away. To make your pet more comfortable, we can also provide you with an overnight stay. At your request, we can create a flexible schedule to allow for both an overnight stay and one or more pet sitting visits.

Will you pick up my mail?

You bet! On pet sitting visits and overnight stays, we will also take your trash to the curb, water your plants, and take care of light and window shade adjustments.
